Oatmeal cream pies bring back memories of my child hood. Opening my lunchbox and finding a delicious Little Debbie snack, an oatmeal cream pie. It was that soft chewy cookie with the extra sweet creamy filling which gave me that afternoon boost to get through the rest of the school day.
My version is a little different. A little crunchy, a little chewy; It’s still sweet and sinful, but it contains a fraction of the ingredient list in those delicious Little Debbie snacks and lots more flavor! Read more
Baklava. A lebanese pastry made by layering thin sheets of dough (phyllo) with melted butter, ground nuts, and sugar, which is then baked and covered with a syrup.
I love baklava. It has a flaky crisp texture on top and sweet layers of a crunchy nut filling throughout.
I am a cupcake lover. There’s no denying it.
I do feel though, that cupcakes are on their way out as being the ‘it’ baked good; But I just can’t get enough of them.
For a Fourth of July party last week I was asked to bring some cupcakes. I was unsure of what flavor to make, but my ‘mother-in-law’ made it clear she wanted salted caramel cupcakes.
